Assign a Custom Template to a Category, Tag, or Taxonomy

Note: For the sake of simplicity, the following steps refer only to Categories, but the process is the same for Tags and Taxonomies—you’ll just be accessing them from their own sections within the WordPress Admin.

  1. If your Skin doesn’t already include one, create a Custom Template you’d like to use here.
  2. In your WordPress Admin, go to Posts → Categories, and click the name of the Category for which you wish to assign a custom template.

  3. Locate the Custom Template option, and then choose the name of your previously created Custom Template from the dropdown menu:

  4. Click Update to preserve the change.
  5. Voila, you’re done!
