Verifying your site with Google Search Console or Bing Webmaster Tools provides a number of insights and benefits to site administrators.
Some of the insights include advanced search metrics, reports on how many pages of your site are currently indexed, and any problems your site may have.
The benefits include quicker, more reliable indexing in the search engines, along with detailed knowledge of the overall health and status of your site.
Setting up Google and Bing Site Verification
First, you’ll need to obtain the verification codes from Google and Bing. Once you have them, you can return to Thesis Admin → Site → Site Verification, paste the content
string (from the provided <meta>
tag) into the appropriate fields, and then hit the save button.
You don’t need to set up both services, but we recommend doing so in order to maximize your site’s exposure in search engines.
Update: Example video removed because it incorrectly showed pasting the entire <meta>
tag in the available fields; instead, you should only paste the content
portion.
