The Thesis Support team has been feverishly adding new tutorials to the official Thesis Theme User’s guide, and you’re going to love them.
1. How to Show One Sidebar On Some Pages, and Two Sidebars On Other Pages
Ever want to customize how many sidebars show up on specific pages of your site? Now there’s a tutorial for that. See how you can tweak your WordPress sidebars using Thesis.
2. How to Add a Custom Navigation Menu to your Footer
If people make it to the bottom of your site, chances are htey’re looking for what they can do next. That’s why email sign-up forms in your footer work so well. However, you can also add a custom navigation bar to help encourage clicks too.
3. How to Remove #More From Your Permalinks
When you use the “More” function in WordPress, it creates a link that allows people to click to read more. The problem is, that link adds a #more to the end of the URL string, which can be bad for SEO purposes because people may link that URL instead of the real URL. To remove that #more hashtag, follow this tutorial.
(Note, I’m sure Google is smart enough to ignore the hashtag, but hey, just in case, right? :-D)
4. How to Style the Frame that Surrounds Post Images
If you’re using the Thesis post image functionality, or adding class="frame"
, to your images, you’ll notice that Thesis has default styling for a frame. Well, if you want to customize how that frame looks, we have a tutorial for that too.
5. Are You Using Thesis Yet?
If not, check out this review that Rae Hoffman, a widely respected search engine optimization expert, had to say about Thesis.
Or you can simply look at this tweet by Infusion Soft, a world-class Customer Relationship Management system. They said, “You probably know this – we experienced a noticeable lift in search engine traffic since upgrading from our prev theme. Thx!”
