This is just a quick update to let you know that Thesis 2.1.9 (changelog) is now available via auto updates and direct download for new customers.

The purpose of the new version is to enhance auto update functionality for Skins and Boxes.

And on that note, I’ve got a big announcement about Skins and Boxes on deck for tomorrow. Stay tuned!

What is with the update for classic responsive? Will that break anything if updated?

K33f, I’m writing a post about our recent Skin and Box updates right now, but for your purposes, no—the update for Classic Responsive will not break anything.

Check out the Classic Responsive Skin changelog for more information.

Also, it’s worth noting that this particular Skin update includes updated Skin CSS. To avoid potentially undesirable overwrites, Thesis does NOT replace your Skin CSS when you update your Skin; instead, this is a manual process that you control.

After you’ve updated Classic Responsive, you can follow these instructions to update your Skin CSS.

Excellent – now I can see when and how I can update the necessaries! Thing is though, the method I use to change the background image (replacing the default bg3.png) always needs to be repeated with each skin update because of the override. I saw on your Twitter page that there maybe an alternate way of doing this properly – would you be able to point me in the right direction to a tutorial, Chris?

Hello! I just updated my skin yesterday and now my Jetpack plugin won’t show up. I tried reinstalling it but it fails and says that it’s already been installed.

Do you know what the issue might be?

Thanks.
