This is just a quick update to let you know that Thesis 2.1.9 (changelog) is now available via auto updates and direct download for new customers.

The purpose of the new version is to enhance auto update functionality for Skins and Boxes.

And on that note, I’ve got a big announcement about Skins and Boxes on deck for tomorrow. Stay tuned!

That is great. Hope to see some awesome skins from Chris tomorrow.

What is with the update for classic responsive? Will that break anything if updated?

Chris Pearson

K33f, I’m writing a post about our recent Skin and Box updates right now, but for your purposes, noโ€”the update for Classic Responsive will not break anything.

Check out the Classic Responsive Skin changelog for more information.

Also, it’s worth noting that this particular Skin update includes updated Skin CSS. To avoid potentially undesirable overwrites, Thesis does NOT replace your Skin CSS when you update your Skin; instead, this is a manual process that you control.

After you’ve updated Classic Responsive, you can follow these instructions to update your Skin CSS.

Thank you for the thorough response. You are the man!

This was awesome to see when I logged into a dev site this morning. All about the small details!

So the big announcement is …?

Chris Pearson

Hum .. Alex. I kinda see this for ages !!

Excellent – now I can see when and how I can update the necessaries! Thing is though, the method I use to change the background image (replacing the default bg3.png) always needs to be repeated with each skin update because of the override. I saw on your Twitter page that there maybe an alternate way of doing this properly – would you be able to point me in the right direction to a tutorial, Chris?

Chris Pearson

Neil, if you open a support request on this topic, we can help you figure out a workaround for updates.

Thanks. I was given some simple instructions and now I’m looking forward to the next update!

Hello! I just updated my skin yesterday and now my Jetpack plugin won’t show up. I tried reinstalling it but it fails and says that it’s already been installed.

Do you know what the issue might be?

Chris Pearson

Hi Sarah! I don’t know precisely what the issue might be, but if you open a support request, we can help you figure out a solution.

Thanks for this update. Already updated the same in my website. Best thing is it simplifies things.

Great Update. Thanks for keeping Thesis updated.

Planing to get it for my upcoming blog theme.

I just installed the latest and it’s up and running, looks great!

Just wondering why there are no dates on the blog posts here?

Is Thesis fully compatible with WordPress 4.0?

A good question Bob to which I also need an answer. I want to update WordPress from version 3.9.2 to 4.0 and also install this update for Thesis. Chris, can you provide an answer please or are you currently testing it?
