Ancient Chinese proverb: it should never be your code that changes, only your design! And that’s only one reason why you need Thesis.

Grab Thesis 1.0.1 for WordPress 2.6 Compatibility

by Chris Pearson on July 15, 2008

Thesis 1.0.1 fixes a compatibility issue with the WordPress 2.6 admin interface that prevented the options panel from working properly. The only theme file that has changed for this intermediate release is options.php, which you can find here:

/thesis/lib/classes/options.php

For the simplest upgrade possible, simply replace that file, be sure to hit refresh on your options panel, and you should be good to go!

Visit the downloads page to get Thesis 1.0.1.

Firstly, nice work with the theme. It looks great and despite having next to no knowlege of HTML/CSS I’ve found it a joy to use.

I am however, having one small problem with Thesis and WP 2.6 and was wondering if anyone had a solution. I’ve been trying out the new caption functionality when adding images but it doesn’t seem to play nicely with the current version of Thesis causing the frame round the image to disappear and messing up the image alignment. I notice the presence of images with both frames and captions on the first page of this demo site so I’m assuming its easily done without using the WP visual editor.

Any suggestions on either making WP 2.6’s captions work nicely with Thesis or on creating framed images with captions (I’ve read the image tutorial on this site but it doesn’t seem to cover captions) would be great.

Once again thanks for an excellent theme.

Phil — I’m going to have to build caption-handling capability into the next release, so nothing serious will happen until then. In the meantime, user Rick Beckman has built some classes into his custom stylesheet to handle the new captions, so you may want to give those a spin.

Thanks for the quick reply Chris, and thanks to Rick Beckman for the stylesheet. Have given the classes you mentioned a quick test-drive and everything looks good. Cheers.

I am sorry, I have downloaded Thesis, but I have not the option described under the ‘design’ tab, as per your instructions here. So I cannot apply it to my site. What do I do?

I am an absolute no-programmer, so I need (sorry) really simple instructions, thanks!

Hi there! Is there any for to contact you or somekind of presale forum were i can post 2 simples question before buying the theme?

Thanks

Matthias — It looks as though your site is actually a hosted version of WordPress, located at WordPress.com. If this is the site you intend to use Thesis on, you’re going to be out of luck because premium themes cannot be applied to sites on the hosted WordPress platform.

As an alternative, you may wish to purchase a domain name from GoDaddy and Web hosting from a reputable hosting company. For more information on this, see my article on choosing a Web host.

If you need to, you can also email me at diythemes [at] gmail [dot] com.

ruigato — Drop me a line at the address listed above, and I’ll be glad to help you out!

hey there.
a couple ?s.
is there a free version of thesis?
if not, is there a cutline version that has this same look/feel where text can be included in the 3 collumn spread?

i’m a new blogger, am looking for a 3 collumn spread that has more of the look/feel of a news journal/enewsletter layout.

i have interested in main text, visuals, video, and mp3s….and just want something a bit more fluid. i write to promote my work as a practitioner of spiritual healing….this is more for my own use / establishing an online presence….where i’m the sole writer/editor. thanks for any heads up. happy to ‘purchase’ this theme…but i’m so new to the blogging endeavor i want to ‘practice’ on a free theme for a bit.

thanks for any recommendations. email me at evolveserenity at gmail dot com.

peace and be well….tre
