I just updated my About page and then searched out others talking about updating theirs.

I will revisit mine again after having read your article. True, I need to state more clearly what I will write about, but, I am redefining me and my blog right now so, who knows what I will post about next.

Funny thing… As I was reading this, I was agreeing whole-heatedly! I thought I should revisit my About Page. When I went to my main site, I don’t have an About page! Whoops!

Time to write one!

Alright, I’ll bite… my mistake(s) may be:
1) No Opt-In on About Page (gonna fix that right away)
2) Perhaps too much talk “About Me”? Hard to say… As a Life Development Coach, my entire history reflects my qualifications in Life Development. However, I sure don’t have my entire life history posted and… how much is too much?

I love all the great tips I get from you guys, but this one made me stand up and take action! I have to say, I love my new About page, and the ideas here made me think about how to tweak content on other pages as well. Thanks, I can’t wait to run analysis in about a month and see how the changes do.

Agreed, I will nearly always go and read the about page of any blog I come across, neglecting it is clearly a missed opportunity. And yes, the page needs to tell me why I should be reading your blog, and why I should listen to what you are saying.

I always suggest it’s a good idea to think about what goes through your own head when you read and about page. Think back to this post next time you do!

I knew when someone had read my about page when they emailed me, and in their email they agreed with me on something that I wrote only on the About Page.
I was pleasantly surprised.

I keep my About page updated regularly. I have some bits from my resume, rewritten. I’ve got links to the sites I work on, so I go in to keep them updated each time something changes. I’ve also got a photo of myself there for anyone who wants proof that I have a face.
