Haha, yeah, consequence of using my forum name here rather than my real name; it might be worthwhile to switch so as to remove ambiguity. Regardless of my identity crisis, I'm glad you were able to get the issue sorted.

Chris, thank you so much. You gave me the right hint.

And by the way, you were the only one. Neither the Wordpress Forum, nor the feedburner forum, nor the developer of the plugin could provide me with a solution.

That's how to fix the problem:
1. Get rid of the spam, by using the "clean" function of tweetbacks. Because tweetbacks actually caused the problem.
2. Rsync the Feed with feedburner. Thats a function of troubleshootize.
3. Do a dummy query to the end of your feed URL and subscribing to this new URL through Google Reader. An example would be: http://www.yoursite.com/yourfeed.xml?foo=bar. Doing so will trick Google Reader into thinking your feed is brand new and will force an immediate first crawl.

Now my feed is nice and clean again.

Thanks for your advice, I really appriciate it.

If the spam isn't showing up in all readers, then it very likely isn't there anymore. Google Reader caches feeds forever, so if these posts were ever present at that feed address, then they will always show up. Perhaps someone used the Feedreader address that you're using at a previous point in time? Either way, I doubt there's anything you can do about it.

Hallo Chris,

maybe you can help me. I have Spam in my feed! And I have know idea how do I get rid of it

The Problem: I have some dutch Spam in my feed. After 15 posts, there are about 10 posts I did not put into my feed. They are quite embarassing.

So my question is: "How do I get rird of it?"

The strange thing is, you cannot see the Spam Posts if you visit my blog. You can only see it if you subsribe to the feed via google feedreader. Even if I subcribe to it with Apple Mail, I cannot see it.

I use the newest version of Wordpress (2.7), th thesis them, further I use feedburner to burn my feed.

I posted the same question to the wordpress forum, but did not get answer yet. The feedbuner forum is closed.

While I am writing this, I wonder if it could have something to do with "tweetbacks", that is the latest plugin I installed. Before that I did not install anything for month and I did not have any problems.

Because I also had some Spam Twitter Comments in my comment approval list, which weren't detected by askimet. I just deleted them.

So please Chris help me!

All the best,

Michael

      All the best,

      Michael

If you're talking about Andrew Hamilton's <a href="http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/members-only/" rel="nofollow">Members Only plugin</a> then I can confirm it works - we use it for our intranet which is running on Wordpress + Thesis.

Before I plunk down the cash, can you tell me whether Thesis will work with the Members Only plugin....I have never done a site with Wordpress before, but I am considering it for a group that wants a members-only site.

Thanks.
