Don't get your hopes up, Milan; WordPress 2.7 could hit anytime over the next week or two; Chris is on vacation for the next week and a half or so, so we'll probably not see another Thesis release until Christmastime or a little after. I've not heard anything regarding any work on compatibility with WP 2.7 at this point; his focus on the next release has been on bringing us the homepage controls we've all been waiting with baited breath for.

Hopefully, by the time 2.7 is officially released, Thesis will be updated to handle the changes transparently.

Nicky,
I have a test site with WordPress 2.7RC1 and Thesis 1.32. Everything works just fine -- no problems at all. The only plugin I'm using right now is KingdomGeek's OpenHook. I'm going to be putting my custom.css and custom_functions.php onto the site in the near future to see how they work.

The only things I see that will need tweaking are the Thesis Options and Design Options. They work just fine, but all the styling is gone. They're just a long list down the page, and the "big ass" save button is a "little ass" save button!

The only problem I've encountered is that the home page does not display any sidebars, multimedia box, etc. with Safari for Mac -- FireFox is fine. But neither do the Classic or Default themes, either. The other pages display fine. I think this is a WP 2.7/Safari problem, not Thesis.

If you want to check it out, it's <a href="http://bipolardisorderhealth.com/" rel="nofollow">Bipolar Disorder Health</a>.

Nicky: December 4th is when WordPress 2.7 is installed at WordPress.com, *not* when it becomes available at WordPress.org for the rest of us. We probably have a week or two of waiting left. ;)

Wordpress 2.7 is arriving...on DEC 4th!
http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2008/12/03/27-gets-here-in-two-days/

Will Thesis 1.3.2 work fine with this upgrade? I know from the Forums that threaded comments might not be... but is everything else going to be ok?

David, upgrading can be done as usual -- just download the WordPress package and upload it as normal -- being careful not to overwrite your config.php file. Also, using the Automatic Upgrade plugin works wonderfully. :D

Note that the Automatic Upgrade plugin prompts to make backups of both files and database information automatically, so it's quite safe.

I don't know about others, but I'm extremely cautious. So I do a complete backup and turn off plug-ins, then do the upgrades following Chris' directions - http://diythemes.com/thesis/downloads/ . The upgrades are quick, the backing up takes some time, but I can set it to back up and do other things while it backs up :) . It's worth it. Now, having said that, I really need to do my Wordpress backup :)

When you folks upgraded, did you just click the link on WP and go? Or, did you copy files to a safe location, etc? Just trying to find out the extent of what was done here or if the upgrade was just a click away and you didn't do anything else.
