Default Thesis & WP Ajax Comments

Hi there,

Running Thesis 1.0.2 on WP 2.6.1 with Akismet/Chunk URLs/Get recent comments/Google analytics/Sociable/Subscribe to comments & WP Ajax Comments (all most recent versions) at my climate blog Hot Topic.

WP Ajax Comments doesn't work. Re-installing/activating/deactivating etc has no effect. Is there some basic incompatibility here, or a workround available? My commenters really like being able to edit their spelling mistakes... ;-)

It works fine on Neoclassical 1.1/WP 2.6.1 on another of my sites...

Cheers

The same plugin hooks are available in Thesis as were in Neoclassical, so the content that the plugin needs to output should be present.

What exactly is happening when you activate the plugin? Anything at all?

Nope - nothing at all either in admin or on the comments on the site. The plugin author, Ronald Huereca is also having a look...

Cheers

Turned out to be a Unix permissions issue. Now fixed. But now I get "500" errors as the server rejects attempts to post via xmlrpc.php. Aargghhh.

In your blog's admin panel, in the Writing section of the Settings tab, verify that you have the Remote Publishing option enabled for XML-RPC; if it's disabled, that may be the source of your errors.

Thanks, kg, but it's not that. Might be some kind of Apache issue... Dunno...

Issue sorted. Turned out to be a clash between the shopping cart I was using and WP Ajax Comments. The cart was not handling its javascript calls properly - so I lose the cart, and the comment plug in works fine.

The downside is that I now need to find a working cart...
