Default Question on Showing Dates on Posts

I currently have all the boxes in Thesis Options -> Display Options -> Publishing unchecked because I don't want dates showing on posts.

However, I just created a new category for news posts and want just those posts showing dates. Can I selectively show the date on just some posts fairly easily?

Thanks.

Hey, I just had a brilliant idea. This involves some pretty serious coding, so try to keep up with me here...

I can type in the freaking date when I write the post, right?

Actually, it doesn't take much coding at all. The question is, do you want to hide the author for every category except one, or is it just the date you want to selectively display?

The only post/page author is me and I don't really want to see my name all over the place. It's just the date I'd like to selectively control.

But seriously, I'm ok with just typing in the date on posts that have some time relevance. Seems simple and effective enough, just didn't think of it when I first posted. Thanks.
