I'm not sure what this is about, but I upgraded to 2.6 and haven't noticed any problems.

By the way, did you get my messages, Chris?

I solved the background and footer issues.

The main problem that I am having at this point is that my excerpt option isn't working, and I would like to have excerpts for my blog page to avoid the duplicate content problem.

@justme
The post on the Thesis home page describes what the fix is all about:
Grab Thesis 1.0.1 for WordPress 2.6 Compatibility — Thesis Theme for WordPress

I'd recommend upgrading Thesis as well even if you don't experience this issue.

Chris, in order to go directly from 1.0 to 1.0.2, is it correct to just replace the two files involved in the upgrade (options.php going from 1.0 to 1.0.1. and header_functions.php from 1.0.1 to 1.0.2), or is it better to install the whole package?

Unhappy Options.php problem going from 1.0 to 1.0.2

My first query here...I get the following error message:

Warning: unserialize() expects parameter 1 to be string, object given in /home/tra16446/public_html/wp-content/themes/thesis/lib/classes/options.php on line 88

I upgraded from 1.0 to 1.0.2 (skipping 1.0.1 in the middle). I also have the problem of not being able to change default category and/or delete the silly default category. I can't even change its name now - it says it can't be done or says it has been done (but it lies) or better still, when I have tried reverting back to the default theme and deleting the category, it gives me a 404 error.

I am wondering if I need to update the options.php in the /lib but when I download a new theme group of files it appears to be identical to the one I have. I tried swapping out the code line 88 for a shorter version suggested somewhere else here but that didn't work. Would love my first bit of advice.

I love the theme but am still learning the whole wordpress thing and am hesitant to start loading up articles until I know they won't be lost or corrupted.

If you want to have a look at the error on my site it is sort of hidden in the background image, top left - click and drag to find. Thnaks in advance

I came up with this too, I don't know where iot comes from or why, it only happen on my dev server. I noticed on your page it is still there, albeit hidden behind your background image when it eventually loads. I suggest you look at you Thesis options page, probably under the MINT, Analytics, and you will probably find that "Warning: unserialize() expects parameter 1 to be string, object given in /home/tra16446/public_html/wp-content/themes/thesis/lib/classes/options.php on line 88" Is there, just highlight and delete.

As I said I don't know why it happen to me or you, but that is how I fixed mine, basically re-do things.

Default WordPress 2.6.2 is now available. Now what?

I'm guessing we should all run screaming from the room. Or at the very least, sit tight and wait until Chris says it's okay to upload, right?

According to the WordPress blog, the main change is as follows:

Quote:
If you allow open registration on your blog, you should definitely upgrade. With open registration enabled, it is possible in WordPress versions 2.6.1 and earlier to craft a username such that it will allow resetting another user’s password to a randomly generated password.
Since I don't allow open registration, I'm going to sit tight unless someone can offer a more compelling reason to upgrade.

Upgrading to 2.6.2 won't break Thesis, and the release contains a couple security & bug fixes. I'd recommend upgrading, especially since doing so with the Automatic Upgrade plugin takes all of about 45 seconds. I did 8 blogs at once earlier today and didn't have any issues whatsoever -- with the upgrade, with Thesis, or with any plugins.

Please provide a link to whatever plugin you suggest. There are so many available plugins, it is difficult to know which ones work well. Thanks!
