Default Custom Video pages

I think I already know the answer to this question but thought I would ask it instead because if it doesn't exist it may be a nice addition.

I would really like to use video in the media box, but I would like to customize the video for different pages.

Say for instance if you go to the "about" page there could be a video introduction of myself.

Then if you click to "books" there could be a video book review...etc.

On each post or page, you can add a custom field to the post (using the Custom Fields options down below the editing box); use key of "video" and your video code as the value.

|- Key ----- Value -|
custom ----- custom HTML code
image ------ URL to image
video ------ video code
thumb ----- URL to thumbnail

The specific keys used are definable via the Thesis Options page.

Default EEK. Tried this but having Issues

Hey Guys,

EEK: I have tried this, but I've got some issues! The youtube video is showing to thumbnail size as I indicated. But I can't get it to align right, and I can't get the text to wrap around. It will show up as on the right in the editor, but it will not save the changes and so I keep getting left align on the back end. (I've read the styling images tutorial, but it's not working for video placement).

Please check it out:

http:/www.wifeboat.com/?p=61

Here's how I named the values:

custom----HTML Code
image----http://www.youtube.com/v/EhdoSp9tkWo&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x2b405b&color 2=0x6b8ab6&border
thumb----URL to thumbnail
video----<object width=\"425\" height=\"349\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http://www.youtube.com/v/EhdoSp9tkWo&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x2b405b&color 2=0x6b8ab6&border

I also tried a plugin called Ararchy, but some of the menu items we're showing up in the editor, and it would not play. I have disabled this now.

The video in the link you gave seems to be aligned to the right just fine. Is there something else you were expecting?

Default Need text to wrap around video

Thanks for replying to my question. I want the text to wrap around the video, similar to the way it can wrap around a regular image. The tutorial for images shows how to do this, but it doesn't seem to be working for me on videos. I don't care for all the white space to the side, so the wrap would look better to me.

Any ideas? Is there a custom css to use, and/or in the custom field, is there something better to use?

Thanks for your time!

Default Sidebar mods.

To designerhead,

I know this is off-topic and I apologise. But I can't get an answer to my original post 'How do I customise the side bar?'

How do you customise your sidebar on your web site?

Many thanks,

uk_buddy
