The option to have long page titles but short links in the nav menu has been present since Thesis 1.0.0.

It involves adding links to your pages to a Link Category. You can name your pages whatever you want, and then when you're adding links to them, just use a short name. Then add that links category to your nav menu, per this video.

I really like this concept because it allows me to remove the title from the pages. However, you lose the function of the current page's tab being highlighted. Is there any way to fix this?
